Networking and Security - Juniper - Juniper Services - Juniper Managed ServicesManaged Security
The attractiveness of managed security services drove a 41% increase in their service revenue from 2003 to 2004 (Frost and Sullivan). The most common services sought were managed VPN and managed firewall, to protect the traditional Internet border. New managed security services, such as intrusion prevention and anti-virus, are forecast to grow rapidly from this foundation in the coming years.
Juniper Networks offers an extensive portfolio of products for managed security services, including both premise-based security devices and network-based platforms. Providers can enter the market with base VPN services and later extend to more advanced security offerings. This flexible service-delivery model results in faster time to market, lower capital requirements, and reduced costs for operations training and support
Networks products for CPE-based security offerings include our complete line of security devices, from our small site NetScreen-5 series, which combines Deep Inspection Firewall, IPSec VPN, antivirus, and Web filtering with options for integrated wireless or ADSL, to our high-capacity Integrated Security Gateway (ISG), with many other firewall/IPSec VPN and Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) platforms in-between.
The Juniper Networks Integrated Security Gateway (ISG) and NetScreen-5000 series support network-based offerings with their integration of multiple security functions into a single, high-performance device. These platforms provide Virtual System support to allow partitioning into multiple security domains, each with a unique set of administrators, policies, firewall/VPNs, and address books. Juniper Networks E-series, M-series, and T-series network routing platforms enable many types of VPN services offerings, including both L2 and L3 varieties, with options for Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and virtual private LAN service (VPLS).
