Network Monitoring Services
GEM’s Network Monitoring allows you to customise and develop a scalable and secure monitoring solution for your network. With the ability to monitor thousands of devices which can be centrally managed to meet organisational and geographical needs, such as:
- Visual presentation of current / previous status of computers, servers, network devices, lap tops
- Monitoring of network services (SMTP, POP3, HTTP, NNTP, PING, etc.)
- Manages operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows, others), applications, and networked devices.
- Alerts available via pager, SMS, e-mail, or phone.
- Display of customer SLA compliance.
- Ability to restart or re-boot services and servers.
GEM’s Network Monitoring solution validates network connectivity to devices and application services illuminating accessibility and network latency, with auto-discovers network interfaces, monitors interface traffic and calculates bandwidth utilisation. It also delivers a complete network visibility solution to assure that the highest levels of business service quality are achieved. A 100% network visibility is critical in today’s network driven enterprise; this is why GEM is a distributed network environment that can manage NOCs, branch offices and datacenters – based on your enterprise requirements.
When our Network Monitoring solution is in place, our clients can spend their time providing better services to their users instead of reacting to emergencies. Quantix ensure our clients are the first to know when anything fails, we ensure they are up and running before the first call comes in. Our fast pro-active response to clients critical issues ensures they stay one step ahead of the game.
Through the analysis of status data GEM can be graphically displayed alarm consoles, performance reports and SLA reports.
Network Monitoring Solution - modules include:
Network Discovery Module
• Automatically discovers network topology and configurations for network devices and servers.
• Discovered devices are configured using the GEM Monitor Auto Configuration tools.
• Notifies when a new network device is discovered or an existing device fails to be discovered when expected.
Traffic Graphing Module
• Polls device interface ports on the network, including WAN edge routers, for network activity.
• Graphs network traffic with multiple display options using either included or custom templates.
• Notifies if network traffic thresholds are violated.
Protocol Analysis Module
• Provides network protocol traffic usage tracking and analysis.
• Identify the OS and identity of nodes and users.
• Collects Netflow/ sFlow data from routers or switches.
Network Map Module
• Displays utilization and status of network, including LAN and WAN connections.
• Drill-down to local traffic details for individual network segments.
Standby Server
• Provides active-passive failover capabilities to GEM’s Network Monitoring.
• Gracefully returns control to the Primary server when it returns to normal operations.
Distributed Monitoring Agents
• Ideal for independent remote locations.
• Great for locations with intermittent or low bandwidth connections.
