Solaglas is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain Group. It is one of the largest processors, distributors, installers and repairers of glass and glass systems in the UK. Formed in 1982 in the merger of Clark Eaton and Doulton Glass, Solaglas brings together over 140 years experience in glass and glazing.
Solaglas has a nationwide business network organised into different divisions to supply different markets. These include double glazed unit production, glass distribution & toughening, facades for major architectural projects and replacement glazing. With over 30 local business units spread across the UK, the company needed a strong IT support structure to manage some of its business critical Oracle and Linux systems and ensure an appropriate level of service.

Looking ahead to the future
With the Oracle and Linux services now firmly in place Solaglas is investigating the inclusion of other key systems in the managed services package. These currently include its SQL server systems which are used for some important middleware and database applications. Solaglas has built up sufficient confidence in Quantix to consider expanding the scope of its partnership with them.
