Problem:
A leading manufacturing company had seen circa 300% growth over
an 18 month period and were experiencing major performance issues
with their IT estate. Due to the company's success the
existing Microsoft Infrastructure was no longer sufficient to deal
with the greater demand put upon the IT resource. The company
needed a solution that could meet their current demands but one
which could also provide a long term solution for the business,
they dictated that the solution needed to be secure, scalable,
resilient and fully managed - it also needed to cater for the fact
they were on the verge of opening two new offices and employing a
larger remote workforce.
Solution:
Quantix provided the client with a managed cloud Infrastructure
(IaaS). The service was provisioned to provide a fully
resilient cloud to include infrastructure build, high-level
security, connectivity and scope for future growth. A virtualised
platform in the Quantix Nimbus-Q cloud was implemented and now
delivers a comprehensive Microsoft architecture for the client,
from Managed Email services and Active Directory Services to
complete business continuity, supported around-the-clock by
Quantix's managed services delivery team.
This service, via a dedicated 30Mb leased line to our Cloud
platform, acts as a central IT hub for all of the clients'
locations. With additional redundancy links to remote sites, we
have been able to provide a very secure private cloud
Infrastructure. Quantix has also mirrored the 30Mb
connections to provide a breakout point to the internet for the
group, which has substantially increased both bandwidth and
internet performance.
SecureConnect, Quantix's Cloud remote working solution, provided
flexibility for mobile staff, with an easy to use SSL VPN service
for laptops, as well as a service for Apple iPhones, Windows Mobile
devices and Blackberries. This allowed staff to be in constant
contact with office resources whilst on the move.
The service provides a 99.9% SLA on uptime, with the added peace
of mind that the core systems are being maintained on a 24*7 basis
by a team of over 30 UK consultants with access to highly granular
monitoring and management tools.
