Solution Brief: Managed Application Services
Speed of implementation and 24*7 management of environment

Solution: Managed Application Services
(Microsoft)
Problem:
Subsequent to being awarded a major central government building
contract, one of the UK's leading construction groups had a
requirement to host a specific project-based application within a
Cloud environment. Due to the size of the project and the number of
tasks to be managed, it was vital that the project applications
were available within a tight deadline and that they remained
available on a continuous basis.
Having already been a user of Quantix Managed Services for some
years, the client engaged with Quantix to negate the need to
provision internal hardware and support resources, and to allow for
a flexible solution that can be used for the duration of the
project life.
Solution:
Quantix provided the client with a Managed Application Solution
in the Quantix Cloud - A fully managed environment that was
provisioned quickly and effectively and allowed the client to focus
on the project delivery and not be concerned with how the project
software would be installed and managed.
With the wrap-around of Quantix 24*7 Managed Services, the
client was assured continuous proactive support for the platform
and equally had the peace of mind that in the event of an
unforeseen failure, the applications would be 100% resilient
against any data loss. Given the criticality of the project
applications, this was a vital benefit of the Quantix solution
since no disruption to the project could be afforded.
A key component of the solution was the requirement for
flexibility. The project was originally only planned for a finite
period of time, so utilising the Quantix Cloud meant that the
application could be deployed without the need for any hardware
purchase, avoiding any unnecessary costs and providing the client
with a greater return from their contract win. It was also
anticipated that the project would expand at some time in the
future, so the ability to increase resources on demand would be of
enormous benefit to the future smooth running of the contract.
