Problem:
Our client is a leading UK brand in luxury holiday
resorts. The company's growth and acquisition strategy had
created a number of separate websites and databases that needed to
be consolidated onto a common platform.
The organisations website booking engine, which resided on an
Oracle infrastructure, was critical to the revenues of our client
and as complexity of the websites increased, so issues with the
existing hosting provider's service levels became apparent. There
was simply no understanding of the unique challenges that
supporting and managing complex Oracle applications brings.
Our client decided to look for a partner that could provide a
cloud hosting solution that was optimised for users of Oracle-based
applications and one that would provide them with a consolidated,
resilient environment. In addition to offering the right platform,

capability for the web tier, databases and operating system.
It was essential that the transition needed to be achieved
without any disruption or degradation to Search Engine rankings or

Solution:
Quantix migrated all of the client's disparately hosted
websites, incorporating both UK and US sites, to its 'application
optimised' cloud platform. This consolidated environment provided a
high performance, UK-based, platform, with all the associated
Oracle Managed Application Services necessary, ensuring stability
and simplicity of management.
Not only is the Oracle platform delivered as a black-box
solution, but the client is also able to call upon Quantix's
application development services as part of the service, as they
seek to develop their business plans further. The service-level
continuity they acquired through the combination of platform
provision, application management and application development was
certainly not available to them via traditional hosting
organisations.
The new architecture Quantix provided has substantially improved
website response times and reduced outages, something that is
essential for their mostly online business. Our client has high
growth plans over the over the coming months and Quantix's
'application optimised' cloud platform offers them the
cost-effective scalability they need to achieve this. The price of
the peace of mind they also have is more difficult to quantify but
no less important.
