the managed service allows customers to determine the remote access
"experience" of the user depending on variables such as the
machine, user or location. For example you may wish a user to get
provisioned an amended application set if they are connecting from
an un-trusted machine rather than their company laptop. Or if a
third partner support company is trying to access your network with
out of date AV software, they may only get read only system
access.
